Michigan’s Adventure, a Cedar Fair Entertainment Company amusement park, added the Beach Party (a Whitewater RainFortress © with eruption feature) to its repertoire of waterpark amusements. The Family Lagoon area, including the pool, Jolly Roger Ship and Tree House Harbor was demolished to make room for the new 9,950 square foot Beach Party splash deck in 2011.
Project challenges included fitting the attraction with associated pump house in the footprint of the Family Lagoon, tying the Beach Party’s treatment system into the existing recirculation system for the Family Lagoon, and minimizing the impact to nearby attractions. WET Engineering provided permitting and design services on the project. The Beach Party was completed on time for the season opening in 2011.
